McGill is a public university, founded in 1821. McGill is a research intensive university and was home to Ernest Rutherford's Nobel Prize-winning research on the nature of radioactivity that was conducted at McGill, as part of a long tradition of innovation on campus that includes the invention of the artificial blood cell and Plexiglas.
There are many options for accommodations, from 100 CAD per night single room with shared bathroom in student housing to 250 CAD per night in modern 4 star hotels in downtown.
For hotel bookings you can use this link to find hotels associated with McGill: accommodation. It is suggested to also look at other options like booking.com, which sometimes has better deals. The talks and lunches will happen at 3600 rue University, which is the physics department of the downtown campus. Downtown Montreal is very walkable; hence any hotel downtown is very suitable. Many of our guests often stay at the close by Delta Hotels by Marriott Montreal, 475 President (Delta, use code GU0 (zero) when booking), but other hotels are fine too.
The weather in June is very pleasant with many outdoor cafés and restaurants. There is a vibrant festival scene during the summer, including the francofolies festival during the workshop dates.
